Finally I’ve made it home for christmas. Saying finally makes it sound like I’ve been on some kind of travels filled with obstacles and overcoming hurdles. To be honest, I haven’t. But I have however had a week that’s been clouded by friends, good spirits and mainly alcohol. It has led me to feel not so healthy, but I wouldn’t have changed a thing.
There’s something so amazing about seeing friends you haven’t seen for years. Somehow within the space of five minutes of seeing each other for the first time, it’s like neither of you had ever left. It went like this:
Person A: how you been? It’s great to see you
Person B: yeah good thanks you? I can’t believe how long it’s been
Person A: I know it’s mental, I’ve been good, fancy a pint?
And that was it, we went back to being the school boys we were years ago. I love that there are people in the world who no matter where you are in life, take you back to being 14 or 15, those are people to keep around.
Anyway, tomorrow is the big day. Along with most other people in London I am horribly ill, but that won’t change anything over these next few days, whatever the cost.
I genuinely hope you all have a great Christmas.
Ps if you get the chance to make sure you watch White Christmas. It’s unbelievably beautiful.
